When it comes to the exterior of the 2016 MKC, there are no major changes made, since the current version was released last year. Although this is so, this MKC version still helps Lincoln discard the infamous Ford copy-cat stigma.

The vehicle will be available in three trims: Premiere, Select and Reserve.

The Premiere trim will come with Xenon headlights, LED taillights, 18” alloy wheels and power-folding side mirrors.

The Reserve should be equipped with all abovementioned plus a hands-free power liftgate and panoramic sunroof.

Lincoln MKC Interior

As per usual, the interior of the 2016 Lincoln MKC will be quite luxurious. The “luxuriousness” includes leather upholstery, wooden details, eight-way powered front seats and both front and rear heated seats.

As for the technology part, there is MyLincoln infotainment system accompanied by an 8” touchscreen with integrated Bluetooth, satellite navigation, audio system with 9 speakers, keyless entry with push-start engine and dual-zone automatic climate control. The already-mentioned touchscreen controls the transmission as well, so that there is no need for a shifter, which has been completely removed.

The vehicle’s also equipped with a myriad of safety advanced technologies such as Colision warning with brake support, park-out assist technology and many more.

It offers only 25.2ft³ of cargo space and 53.1 ft³ with folded rear seat.

Engine and performance

The 2016 MKC will be using two EcoBoost engines – a 2.0- and a 2.3-liter one.

The former comes with turbocharger and direct injection and it delivers approximately 240 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. The latter comes with three advanced tech features – direct injection, turbocharger and twin independent variable cam timing system (Ti-VCT). This one offers 285 hp and 305 pound-feet of torque, which is the most power per cylinder in the class. 0-60 mph acceleration for powerful engine version is approximately 6.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 130 mph.

This vehicle’s transmission could easily be the 9-speed automatic one, followed by front-wheel-drive system, but the customers will be also given the all-wheel-drive system as an option. The estimated fuel economy with FWD is 20 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway, whereas with the AWD these numbers are 19/26.

The 2016 Lincoln MKC will most probably be released early in 2016. Due to only few changes made, the new Lincoln MKC should cost pretty much the same as the current version – starting at $34,000 for base model and $48,000 for fully loaded Reserve trim.

Exterior

Compared to the already out and released 2015 model, this new model has a lithe body and muscle. It comes with a well sophisticated and tapered roof line with long fender arches. The company’s trademark split grille has been perfectly performed with horizontal thin slats that smoothly flow into LED sign lights and its delicate headlight units. Two engine options will be found under the hood of this luxurious car. The 2.7 liter-twin turbocharged EcoBoost V6 is the main novelty.
