2016 Ford Explorer Review, Price

The new 2016 Ford Explorer, builds on the strength and leadership of Ford’s new vehicle lineup, provides their loyal customers even more capability, smart technology and efficiency. The changes, among others, relate to a completely new front end, new rear end and all new wheels.

Since 1991 when the Explorer was launched, sales have been increasing every year. Over the last two decades, the Explorer has been America’s best-selling SUV, and just last year Ford sold over 200,000 Explorers.

2016 Ford Explorer 10 FCI

Exterior

One of the things that made the Explorer popular is its exterior styling, that adds more ruggedness to its sporty appearance. More robust headlamps, with available LED signature lighting, are positioning even higher.

To improve aerodynamics, the new Ford Explorer 2016 has been redesigned roof rack and rear spoiler, as well as active grille shutters that open and close at highway speeds to reduce the drag. To improved ride and handling, the new Explorer has standard 18-inch and available 20 -inch wheels which offer new tire options and reduction of road noise in the cabin.

2016 Ford Explorer 8 FCI

The New Explorer has a 180-degree self-cleaning front and rear camera under the grille and a washer for the camera that keeps camera clean.

In order to satisfy every taste, Ford is, in addition, pushing the 2016 Explorer Platinum series as a luxury SUV. The new Platinum series offers a dual panel moon roof, LED headlights, 20-inch wheels with bright machine face and tarnished dark painted pockets,  premium silver-painted front and rear skid plate elements.

 Interior

For the customers, the new Ford Explorer offers even more smart technology than previous models. These include:

– Smart-charging USB ports throughout, who are located in the front and rear of the vehicle and they’re capable of charging devices two times faster than before.

– Enhanced active park assist which uses ultrasonic sensors and electric power-assisted steering to help drivers with parking.

– Cross-traffic alert, which help alert drivers to oncoming traffic when backing out of a parking space, and much more.

2016 Ford Explorer9 FCI

A special pleasure when driving this seven-passenger Explorer, are authentic wood and premium leather seats. In Platinum series, Nirvana leather wraps console armrests, the instrument panel, quilted door bolsters and upper door trim.

The 2016 Explorer is fitted with new tires, door seals and acoustic glass up front to help reduce noise and vibration inside the car, and making the Explorer a more peaceful place to drive.

 Engine

The Explorer’s new turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder, with an estimated 270 hp and 300 pound-feet of torque on tap, it’s more powerful than the former 240-hp, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. It delivered the best fuel economy: at 20 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2016 Ford Explorer SUV in addition to the 2.3 liter engine, come with a choice of two more different engines. Explorer Sport and the Platinum edition get a standard 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with estimated 365 horsepower and estimated 350 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a six-speed SelectShift® Automatic transmission.

 Price and Relase date

The new model of 2016 Ford Explorer will be released in the summer of 2015 and it will come in several trim levels.

The base Explorer will have a starting price of $ 30,700, little expensive the XLT starts at $ 33,400, and the Limited and Sport models will go on sale for $ 41,300 and $ 44,300.

The most expensive model is going to be the new Platinum model, which comes with just about every option available, starts at $53.500.
