The 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket is coming soon. The new Rocket which was created and is being manufactured by Henrik Fisker and Galpin Autos is not your regular Ford Mustang. Its front end, hood and fenders are all different from the regular ford Mustang.

2016 Ford Mustang Rocket Exterior

The 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket will have a slightly larger exterior body compared to the standard Ford Mustang. The Ford Rocket has adopted the Ford S5550 platform in its design. The vehicle will stretch 188.1 inches long and 76.9 inches wide (1953 mm) and stand at 54 inches tall (1372 mm). The Ford Rocket will have a wheelbase of 107.1 inches.

Its body is made with mostly aluminum and carbon fiber. The two door beauty will ride on 21-inch aluminum wheels. Both the front and the rear are more aerodynamic which translates to improved speed and fuel economy. At the front there is a redesigned large chrome rhomboid grille, a large bonnet with two air vents and bluish LED headlights.

At the rear, there is a modified rear spoiler with two chrome finished exhaust pipes on each side of the car. The taillights also feature LED lighting. The vehicle also comes with wide fenders.

The interior styling is excellent and has utilized quality materials. The interior will accommodate 4 passengers. It will feature Recaro Sports seats upholstered in leather. The seats and the center console which is also covered in premium leather will feature a shiny red stitching.

The door panels and the dash board feature carbon-fiber accents. It also comes with a telescopic sports steering wheel which is upholstered in leather. Other features include an 8-inch touch screen, a dual-zone climate control system as well as the Ford Sync3 interface.

Engine, Specs and Performance

Under the hood of the 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket, you will find a massive engine with amazing power. Though the automaker is still tight lipped about the vehicles engine specs, we understand the vehicle will feature a 5.0 L V8 Coyotte petrol engine that normally produces 435 lb-ft of torque.

In order to improve its output, the engine has been enhanced with a Whipple supercharger that shoots its output to 725 hp and around 700 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission system and power will be transmitted to the rear wheels. The engine will propel the car from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and will have a top speed of 300 km/hr (186 mph). Details on its EPA fuel economy ratings are yet to be released.

Price and release date

The concept of this car made its debut last year during the Los Angeles Auto Show. During the debut, Henrik Fisker, the brains behind the car announced that the car will be produced in limited units of around a dozen per month. The vehicle sales are expected to commence towards the end of 2015. The new Ford Mustang Rocket will cost around $ 110,000 though official information is yet to be released by the auto maker.

Competition

The 2016 Ford Mustang Rocket will face competition from the latest models of Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Challenger, Audi TT, Chevrolet Camaro and Porsche 911.
